Hi, I’m Becca Rowland, an artist and writer from Nova Scotia, Canada. And online I’m known as the girl in white glasses - not sure why.
There are billions of birds in this world and one of the best ways to identify them is by their sound, but it’s really difficult to describe a bird sound in words. So I made audio mnemonics - where I took a bird sound and paired it with a real world noise you’d already recognize.
I made these into videos on my social media channels and was delighted to find out that people thought they were silly and fun and useful.
And now they’re in a book! Bird Talk is out now from Storey Publishing!
